I have a job!

I have a job! I am an official paid dog walker for a neighbor! I am actually making my very own money in like 7 years!

I walked Nellie and Peanut last year when a white Boxer was running in the street towards us. I could catch the Boxer by the collar, managed somehow to bring Nellie and Peanut back inside and called the phone number listed on the tag at the collar. I left a voice mail saying that I just found this dog and the owner should please give me a call back.

While I was still sitting out in the street a skinny lady appeared, grabbed the dog and brought it back into the back yard of the house two houses up from us. I have sometimes seen this lady and the boxer walking down the street (the boxer walking the lady actually, there was a lot of pulling involved) but I did not know that the boxer lived actually right there.
I got a return call from the owner -Shannon - and I told her all is good, the boxer is back in the house. I saw Shannon the following day and we chatted a little and I told her that I have 2 boxers, too, and when she needs somebody to take care of her gang, she always could contact me.

Anyway, the owner showed up at my door at the beginning of February and asked me if I am still interested in walking her dogs, since she just parted with her dog walker.

So, I am now taking care of Sophie the boxer and Winston the schnauzer. I take care of them three times a week twice per day (one walk, one time back  yard) and everybody seems to be happy.

Skate City! The real deal!

The kids and I got invited to Skate City 2 weeks ago when there was no school on Monday. I did not know how the kids would do since it was a disaster the last time we were there (like 2 years ago). The kids then fell already a couple of times before they even hit the ring and then of course they were all frustrated and crying and after 20 minutes we left.

This was the last time Jonah was at Skate City.

Olivia got invited for a birthday party last year to Skate City and this went ok. She skated at the wallside by pulling herself forward. She fell a couple of times but it was okay, no tears.

But now, with this friend, it was all different. The kids had fun, fell a couple of times but there were no tears and everybody just had fun. They were ok going alone by themselves and I checked on them individually every couple of minutes.

And now they are taking Skater lessons!!

These pictures are from their first lesson. They were so excited to learn with all the other kids they could hardly contain themselves. The lesson itself was a tad boring for me and not worth taking any pictures, so please find below two videos that I took from them in skating around after the lesson. The skating after is free for them and for me as a parent so that's definitely a good deal!
You can see how Jonah 'walks' forward but now after the second lesson and some more practice he's doing so much better! There are 5 lessons in total, so 3 are left, and I will post a video of the kids after the 5th lesson (for a 'before' and 'after' so to speak).
I got Olivia her inline skates from a Second Hand store for $10, and Jonah's  I found at a garage sale last year for $2 or $5 - can't remember exactly but they were pretty cheap!
