Just a little update today...

Olivia loves her preschool! I was afraid at first that she really does not want to go there but just after her first day she's constantly waiting for the days she can go! I am soo happy!
The best thing is that she tells me already in the car driving home in German what happened, where they played outside or what they had for snack. Her German is doing awesome! Even with all the English influence she now has she talks a lot of time just in German! How awesome is that?

I rode Vanna the other day with split reins (Dreieckszuegel) that were attached to the girth but I soon gave up since Vanna is not the best to ride when she is so restricted plus I always feared that she might step into the dangling reins (because she freaked out once when I shortened the reins to bring her into a correct head position while trying to lunge her). So I ended up using the split reins as Schlaufzuegel instead but with my real reins still being shorter and my first aid for her. The Schlaufzuegel only should keep Vanna from putting her nose up into the air. And you know what? That helped! She walks much better in a frame on both hands but today I received the neck stretchter (Halsverlaengere) from Germany and I will ride Vanna on Thursday with this help. Will see how she's doing with this one!

Jonah is still far from being fully potty trained. Sometimes I think we are soo close because he's soo good behaving and the next day he just pees into the diaper as if there's no tomorrow. I am so frustrated! And since a couple of days everything is 'No'.
Agggghhhh!

I feel so sorry for the horses here

I think I need to change my blog into English since most of my German friends know English but my English friends don't know German and somehow it is hard to get everything translated with Google. And it is even harder if there is no TRANSLATE button on top like I have it on my screen....

Anyway, horses here are being treated so different than horses in Germany!

All horses I know where ridden by age of 2 - unbelievable for us!

And I just found on my beloved craigslist a sales ad for this horse...this Mexican guy trains horses and even trains a Frisian in dressage! I really wonder how he does that...just look at this bridle construction of this TWO year old horse!
I have never seen something like this...looks close to our German Schlaufzuegel but somehow this looks even worse!

Hier reitet Dale, Lisa's Freund, Frisby. Er ist anscheinend ein Anfaenger, aber die beiden reiten sogar aus und kommen prima zurecht. Frisby ist anscheinend 'bombproof' (also nichts erschrickt ihn), aber er mag keine Esel und Kuehe!

Dusty, das andere Pferd von Lisa, welches sie ihrer Tochter gekauft hat, aber die nichts mehr mit Pferden macht, traegt Frisby's Trense. Schade, ich wollte die Trense eigentlich wieder haben und sie fuer Vanna nutzen. Die Kinnkette an einem Schwedischen Halfter ist gewoehnungsbeduerftig...Frisby hat eine neue Trense, das Gebiss ist glaub ich eine Springkandare.

Ich muss ja schon ganz objektiv sagen, dass Frisby ein wunderschoenes Pferd ist. Vielleicht lacht ihr jetzt, aber nach all den Ponies (Vanna eingeschlossen) ist es mal wieder wohltuend fuer die Augen, ein richtiges echtes Warmblut zu sehen!

Lisa hat mich eingeladen, einen Samstag zu ihr zu kommen und auzureiten...noch bevor der Schnee kommt...ich hoffe, dass Chris mich mal einen Tag hier enbehren kann....

Jonah beim Friseur

Am Donnerstag war es Zeit, Jonah zum Friseur zu nehmen. Es war sein erster Friseurbesuch, weil ich immer versucht habe, seine Haare zu schneiden. Aber das wurde immer schwieriger, weil er es doch mittlerweile mitbekam und auch alle Ablenkungsversuche scheiterten.

Es war auch egal, ob ich Scheere oder Schneidemaschine nutzte, er schrie nur noch und lief weg...plus, ich bin nicht die bester Friseuse, man hat es immer gesehen, wenn ich ihm die Haare schnitt - LOL

Beim richtigen Friseur verhielt sich Jonah sehr gut, er war definitiv nicht hocherfreut, aber sagte auch keinen Mucks.
