Parker, here we are!

We moved!!

What an ordeal!

Chris hired a moving company to move our stuff but we still did 75% of the move done by ourselves somehow.

What a busy week!
The week prior I needed to take the kids to their well-child check to the pediatrician (Kinderarzt), because for the school registration both kids need to have all the necessary shots (Impfungen) and a health document saying that both of them are healthy to enter the new schoolyear.

Olivia got another shot and Jonah needed to have blood withdrawn since one of his lymph knots on the side of his neck is viewable and palpable. We wanted to ensure that everything is alright with him and Jonah did great during this procedure. We got the test results back and the blood is just fine, we only need to watch the lymph knot for now.

Monday I rode Vanna for the last time.
Tuesday I had Chris from the barn over to help me pack most of my kitchen utensils.
Wednesday I packed in the morning and in the afternoon we attended a birthday party for Olivia's friend Campbell who turned 6. She had the party at Build-a-Bear and every kid could take a bear home! Jonah and Olivia had so much fun, she picked a Dalmation dog, Jonah picked a 'Fudge' dog (an adorable dark brown something puppy with floppy ears).
Thursday we had the closing of our old house at 9:30 in the morning and needed to be at the closing for the new house in Parker at 1:00 pm.
On Friday the Comcast man was supposed to show up between 7 and 9 in the morning so the kids and I slept at our new house this night while Chris was back at the old house preparing the real move for Friday morning.
On Saturday Chris and his Dad moved the stuff from the old garage into the new one, including the Hot Rod.
Saturday afternoon our storage container showed up and we emptied this one Saturday evening and all Sunday.

I drafted this post a while ago but today on 7/31 I finally finish it so that you can see some pictures of the house so far, since i - you guessed it - emptied almost all of the boxes during the week. Plus, we managed to go to the zoo and to IKEA (that will be worth another post though) that finally opened its doors in Colorado!

In short - we LOVE this house!!! It has everything what we were looking for - tall mature trees, privacy, backing to open space, walk out and finished basement, work out room, movie theater, granite countertops, 3 car garage, great kitchen, master bedroom on first floor....it is all we could have dreamed of. And now for being here a little over a week we walked to the pool already 5 times and Olivia already learned how to swim on her own :-)

This is the view out of our bedroom window when I am actually laying down in bed:
if there were no fly screens, the Aspen tree would have his branches actually inside the bedroom!

Unfortunately I can't upload any more pictures on this blog since I exceeded my storage on Picasa, what is linked to Blogger....ugh. I tell you, what a week!
