A rare visitor came to Broomfield Friday morning — a male moose was spotted near Daphne and Main streets around 7 a.m.
Greg Jones, who lives on Daphne Street, said his daughter, MacKenzie, spotted the moose and they watched as police drove the animal down the bike path toward Broomfield Heights Middle School.
After a brief stop at the school's football field, the moose moved on to the Ruth Roberts open space north of 136th Avenue and Kohl Street, said Broomfield Sgt. Brendan Sullivan.
The public or the moose were never in danger, he said.
Colorado Parks and Wildlife did not respond to the report of the moose, Sullivan said. The Enterprise has not received a return call from CPW to see if the moose made his visit because he was displaced by last week's flooding.
